. . . and they rush back out with some money.

February 16, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

Happy days! all is not lost.

Been playing the rush poker again, I know! I know! I said I wouldn’t but I just couldn’t help myself. Anyways, turns out all went well, tightened my hand range right up to raises which seems to have done the trick. Was calling raises a bit more often with medium pairs which landed me a few $ when the set hit. had a couple of bad hands but overall been playing quite well I think.

Here’s a selection of the bigger winning hands, some questionable?:

Current bankroll: $69.92

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: $39.92

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Thoughts:

  • Only played for 2.08 hours which equates to $20.60 per hour. That’s more than I get paid in work . . . . Hmm
  • Can’t quite my job on a $69 bankroll unfortunately, just a tad risky.
  • Question for readers . . . Whats the relevance of big blinds per hour or per 100 hands? I know you can use one of them for some reason, read it somewhere but can’t remember now. And whats a good hourly BB figure or per 100 hands BB figure. I’m guessing its the BB per hour is the one that matters.

Fools rush in . . .

February 13, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

Rush poker has done my head right in, it’s just pulse thumping addiction!

I really need to keep away from this new rush poker until my cash game is in better form. Got some coaching coming up next month with a good poker player who I’ll tell you all about at a later date. God knows I need the help on that side of my game judging by recent results!

Only played in 2 SnG’s, the rest of my time has been spent playing over 3000 hands on rush poker. You’ll see how much I’m down from rush poker at the end of the post but to brighten things up here are the two SnG’s I played in. One is a single table and I get 1st, the other is a 27 person SnG and I get 4th. 2 games, 2 cashes. happy. (At least with SnG play)

Single table SnG

27 person SnG

Invested in SnG’s: $4.50

Overall win: $15.48

Profit/Loss on SnG’s: +$10.98

Current bankroll if I didn’t lose so much & rush poker: $86.89

Actual bankroll after losing on rush poker: 27.10 (including $2.23 Rake back)

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: -$2.90

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Losses on rush poker: $62.02 (not very happy at all, sets me way back.)

Rakeback since original $30 deposit: $10.41

Rush poker on full tilt, my first stab at it.

February 10, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

Was about to play a SnG about an hour or so ago at Full Tilt when I got that rush poker bonus $5 pop-up. I played, did I win? . . .

$5 free bonus just for trying it so I decided to have a bash. Why not? Even if I lost $5 I get it returned with the bonus so its worth it.

Full Tilt named it well I can tell you! Rush poker is exactly what it is. There’s no messing about, its just hand after hand after hand. Relentless!

Started off really well and built my stack up to about $15 at one stage,  lost the whole lot and then doubled up again plus a little bit so I ended up winning $1.48.

Full Tilt also kept their word and deposited the $5 so I ended up $6.48 better off. Certainly worth a shot for anybody who hasn’t tried it yet.

I made a quick video of it here so people could check it out. Should really have been a lot more up but I made a dumb call on an all in with only top pair(Aces) with a Queen kicker and got beat by 2 pair. I should know better, never win making calls like that.

Here’s the hand history video followed by the actual video. I don’t suggest watching the actual video as its terrible due to my laptop being so slow and the sound not matching up with the picture. Need to remedy that problem very soon. Take a look:

Profit/Loss on the day: +$1.48

Current bankroll: $75.99 (including Full Tilt’s $5.00 Rush poker bonus)

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: $45.99

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Anybody else had any experience with rush poker? How did you get on and what do you think of the game?

Right now I’m very angry at poker!

February 06, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

Why am I angry? Bloody poker! God I hate online poker at times!

Just played in a SnG at full tilt poker and guess what? I’m down to the last four people and my laptop decides to crash on me. Fantastic!  I think it was because movie 2K was running under another user while I was playing so the pokertracker3, camtasia studio, full tilt poker and all that other stuff running just overloaded it.

That’s the last time I let my girlfriends daughter watch Alvin and the chipmunks. Stinking, annoying rodents! I’m so angry at the chipmunks right now, especially Alvin.

Anyway, the consolation was I still got 2nd place somehow so its not all bad. Also got a nice chunk of rakeback from all the games I played last week so the bankroll is looking better again.

Full Tilt tournament: 138012885

Invested on the day: $2.25

Overall win: $5.40

Profit/Loss on the day: +$3.15

Current bankroll: $69.51 (including a tasty sum of $4.28 rakeback)

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: $39.51

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Rakeback since original $30 deposit: $8.18

Thoughts: Don’t have too much stuff running on your computer when playing poker because you want to put your TV screen through when your holding top pair with an open ended straight and your in the pot with the chip leader who is over aggressive all the time and betting into you and then it crashes.

Rakeback really is showing a difference to my bankroll now as you can see. If none of you guys have it the opportunity to get your rakeback is here.

Just played one hold em game tonight, got 2nd place. Rakeback is on the way!

February 05, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

Spent less time playing hold em and more time on the site today

Got a second place result though so its good. All adds up and the bankroll is slowly building again, back to double the original deposit. Good that I can play just one game of holdem and get some cash in a night and not have to start chasing a loss.

Here’s the video:

Invested on the day: $2.25

Overall win: $5.40

Profit/Loss on the day: +$3.15

Current bankroll: $62.08

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: $32.08

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Thoughts: Don’t push all in with a queen high.

Rakeback coming tomorrow, should up my bankroll a little more. :-)

Two first place wins at the same time. God I love poker sometimes!

February 04, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

played 7 SnG’s before these two and lost so didn’t really make much of a profit but what a great result when I’m filming it eh?

Take a look:

Invested on the day: $15.75

Overall win: $18.00

Profit/Loss on the day: +$2.25

Current bankroll: $58.93

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: $28.93

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Thoughts: Must be concentrating more towards the end of a nights play, always seems like I’m getting the wins late on. Hmm . . . .

After last nights post . . . .

February 02, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

I did played that last game of poker, I lost so I played another one.

Came 6th i the first 18 man SnG, should have got in the money but in a dumb move I pushed all in on the cutoff with 88 and got called by A J. (or similar) He caught and I was out. Got 1st place in a 9 person after so it’s a small creep up in my bankroll which is sorely needed at the moment. Here’s the video:

Invested on the day: $4.50

Overall win: $9.00

Profit/Loss on the day: +$4.50

Current bankroll: $56.68

Profit since $30.00 initial deposit: $26.68

Target: Build 30 buy ins for the $5.00 + $0.50 games. 30 x $5.50 = $165.00.

Thought: Playing a hell of a lot tighter at the start of the games now. Hope this will do the trick and get me back on track.

Allsorts!

February 02, 2010 :: Posted by - Naishster :: Category - A Poker Amateurs Confessions

Since the last I wrote been playing in all sorts, 9 person, 18 person, 27 person and 180 person SnG’s. How did I get on? . . . . .The word ‘dung’ springs to mind..

Must have played in about 3 dozen games at least, been too lazy to video any and not played too great either. (Nothing new there then lately) I cheated and broke my cardinal rule of not playing over the $2.00 + $0.25 limit and played in two $5.00 + $0.50 18 man SnG’s. Yes, I am incredibly ashamed of myself but i did came third for an $18 prize in the last one, the last two guys are still battling it out as I type.

Current bankroll is at $52.18, including $0.47 rakeback. about $26.00 down on my last update. My dreams are getting shattered! lol

Ah well, back to the grind. one more 18 man then I’m off to bed, I’ll record this one and post it tomorrow if its not a load of crap.
